8. Hospital Birth and Postpartum Depression (Carla Michelle Vazquez)

In today’s episode, Nurse Kristina talks with Carla Vazquez, a mother to baby girl Elaina and founder of the baby clothing line called Foxy Luna. Carla was just finishing up college and looking for jobs as a new college graduate when she found out she was pregnant, something that she was not expecting and not a part of her plan. From having tons of support around her as a single mom to the day she gave birth, Carla tells it all. However, in this episode we focus primarily on the postpartum period otherwise known as the “4th trimester.” Carla realized early on she was having signs of postpartum depression and quickly got the help she needed. Carla tells us what resources she used and what really helped her during that time. After everything Carla went through, she also found the motivation to start her own business to work from home and be with her daughter more. Thank you to Carla for sharing your story on the podcast and for being an amazing mama! Check it out now on Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.
