I am so excited to share this week’s episode of Embracing Birth with all my fellow birth nerds! Ashley, a good friend of mine and mother to Rozy, shares her entire pregnancy and childbirth journey with us from how she stayed active during pregnancy to the importance of having a strong family and community support. Ashley talks about what it was like for her and her husband, Conner, to become new parents and how staying open-minded and flexible as a new parent is essential when going through this huge life transition. Ashley wanted to go into labor on her own, but was also diagnosed with preeclampsia at the very end of her pregnancy which led to her being induced. She shares how unexpected this was and how she dealt with this last minute change of plans. I also provide some information on what preeclampsia is, why we are concerned about it developing during pregnancy, and what the treatment options are for preeclampsia. This episode is available on spotify, apple podcasts, and google podcasts! Go check it out now!
